The best Android phones in 2018
Posted On June 16, 2021
With an all-new version of Google’s Android operating system, and the introduction of a brand-new camera app, there are now two major new Android phones to consider.
And both have an LG branding to them.
While the LG G6 has a 6.7-inch 1080p screen, it’s powered by the Snapdragon 820 chip, while the LG V30 comes with the same chipset as the G6.
And though the LG models are similar, they come with a very different experience.
LG’s G6 comes with a Snapdragon 835 chipset, while LG’s V30 uses a Snapdragon 820.
But the G5 and V20 have similar specs.
The LG G5 is powered by a Snapdragon 617 SoC, while V30 has a Snapdragon 625 SoC.
So which is better?
Both LG and LG V20 devices are the latest versions of the LG flagship, the G series.
The V20 features a larger 4.7mm (14.4mm) bezel and a 6-inch (18.4cm) QHD (2560 x 1440) display.
Both devices also have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset and Qualcomm Adreno 540 GPU, which makes the devices fast and responsive.
Both the G3 and G4 are also powered by Snapdragon 820 chips, but their display sizes are smaller.
The G5 has a 5.7inch (13.7cm) Super AMOLED screen, while both the V30 and V5 are 5.5inch (11.1cm) screens.
Both phones have 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.
And LG’s phones are available in both silver and black.
Both LG V10 and V10 Plus have a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera, but the V10s comes with dual rear cameras instead of a single front-facer.
LG V8 and V9 both have a 13-megabyte (32GB) memory card slot.
Both V20s have a 64GB card slot, and both V10 have a 128GB card.
LG phones come with an IP68 rating.
Both models also have Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processors.
Both have a 1080p display, Qualcomm Adrenon 540 GPU and 3GB of memory.
The top-tier V20 also has a 4.8-inch display, while G5 models have a 4-inch one.
Both of the devices are powered by an Adreno 530 GPU.
The specs of both the LG and V30 phones aren’t particularly noteworthy, though both devices are priced at around $1,500.
So if you’re looking for a phone that’s fast and snappy, but doesn’t pack a ton of RAM, don’t bother picking up the LG or V20 models.
