How to watch the upcoming LG OLED TV with the Google Home app
Posted On July 22, 2021
The LG OLED TVs are just a couple of weeks away from becoming available in the United States, but the Google home app has some nifty tricks up its sleeve to make it even easier to watch them.
With the LG TVs being outfitted with a pair of large OLED screens and a small OLED TV remote, you can use it to access Google Assistant commands and the like from any Android device you might have with you.
We’ve had some great results using this with the LG TVs, and it’s definitely something to get excited about, especially since we’ve been using the Google Assistant on all of our Android devices.
The only thing you’ll have to do is download the Google app and then go to your Google account and sign in with your Google credentials.
Once you’ve signed in, you’ll see the following:If you haven’t done this yet, you’re going to have to set up a Google account on your Android device to use Google Assistant.
Go ahead and open the Google account in your Android app, and then follow the steps to get started.
Once it’s setup, you should see this in the Google assistant section of the assistant menu:After a couple steps to confirm, you’ve set up your Google Home account.
Once you’ve done this, you may notice that your Google Assistant voice commands appear on the screen.
When you say “OK Google,” it’ll trigger a voice command to your phone to open the home screen.
If you don’t want to have Google Assistant activate your phone’s camera, it will also trigger a camera-only voice command, which will then activate your camera on your phone.
If there’s no camera on the home page, you might not see the voice command anymore.
You can still do that by going to Settings > Google Home and then turning on Camera in the menu.
Once the Google voice command is activated, you need to use the Google Voice Search functionality to activate your Google home assistant.
To do this, just press and hold the Google button and hold it down until you see the Google search bar appear.
Press the Google Search button to start the search, and you’ll be taken to a page that displays your voice search commands.
This is the place where you’ll type the phrase “OKGoogle,” press the “OK” button, and the Google services will activate.
If they’re enabled, your Google assistant will appear on your screen, and if they’re not, you won’t see them.
It’ll take a few seconds for your voice commands to be heard.
When your Google voice commands are activated, it’ll take about a minute for your Google service to register the command.
The service will then respond with a voice response, which can be helpful if you want to ask for help with something or ask about the situation.
The response will come in the form of a Google Home alert.
The Google Home voice response also appears in the same screen, which is handy if you’re trying to get some additional help on the topic.
You may want to pause the call for a second to take a look at what you can ask for.
When the Google service is finished registering your Google commands, it should now have an “OK.”
Now you’re ready to watch your LG TV.
The LG OLED Smart TV is just a few weeks away, so we’re sure there will be some exciting news coming soon!
If you’re interested in the LG OLED OLED TV, you have until June 21st to pre-order it, which includes the LG Smart TV app.
